What Causes Back Acne? And What You Can Do About It

Back acne (also referred to as bacne) is something that we dread. It makes our backs feel itchy and uncomfortable and one never knows why it happens or what can be done to fix it. Buying loofas and creams do not seem to help and no matter what food group you avoid you just aren't able to get rid of it, right? In order to understand why you have bacne, you need to analyze yourself first. Also, bacne is nothing to be ashamed of nor is it something you should be worried about. Everyone gets these, at some point or the other, to some extent or the other. If you are one of the various people wondering what causes back acne, below are some of the possible causes of bacne.
One of the various reasons could be that you do not clean your back thoroughly. We tend to think that running soap over our backs and just washing it off would fix the problem. See, here's the problem: we have pores on our backs and when we sweat our pores also release certain skin oils. The sweat and the oils clog up our pores and this leads to the buildup of more of these materials which, in turn, causes bacne. Using a loofa or a scrub and washing the back extremely thoroughly would help in this case.
Another possible cause of bacne may be hormonal imbalances. Have you ever noticed that the minute a child hits puberty (boy or girl) they get some form of acne? Some of them get acne on their faces and then, there are those who get bacne. This is normal and the problem would subside after a few months. If it does not, the problem isn't really hormonal due to puberty, it's mental. Allow me to explain.
As we grow older we tend to think about things more seriously than we should, sometimes. Some of us get tense over the smallest things. What we don't realize is that when we let certain things affect us too much, our brain send signals to the body. These signals tell the body that we are under a lot of stress and our bodies then, release certain hormones into the bloodstream. The same hormones that lead to the outbreak of pimples during puberty are released by our bodies when we take on stress. The next time you feel tense, take a break or go to a spa so that you can calm yourself down. Do whatever it takes to get rid of the stress and you will see the bacne go away.
Any form of irritation may cause bacne too. If you are someone who gets waxed often, be sure to wash your skin properly. Wax is thick and it can clog the pores if it isn't washed off thoroughly. Some people may prefer shaving their backs. This is even worse for the skin since it irritates the skin more than wax does. Be nice to your back!
Sometimes our bodies tend to release certain toxins. These toxins lead to bacne, acne, pimples and other skin problems too. We need to get rid of these toxins and water helps us with this. Drinking a lot of water helps get rid of these toxins in the form of sweat and urine.
What causes back acne could vary from person to person. For example: a man who takes on a lot of stress may not get bacne but a woman who does is more likely to due to hormonal imbalances. The possibilities mentioned above are just some of the various factors that could cause back acne.
No matter what causes back acne, you have got to remember to do two things: firstly, drink loads of water (you can never have too much of this) and secondly, always be confident and love yourself. When you are comfortable in your own skin, the chances of your body releasing stress hormones are reduced. So being confident is not only great for you psychologically but it is a necessity for those of you wanting a bacne-free back. Be preventive rather than reactive: rather than wondering about what causes back acne, adopt a healthy lifestyle. Exercise, bathe thoroughly, be confident about your body and don't let things affect you too much. Most of us already know how important it is to treat ourselves right but we fail to implement these pointers in our lives. Try to remember these pointers and when you feel the difference, you are likely to see it too!
