Almost everyone has dealt with acne at some point in their life. The thought of attending a prom party or a date night with an outbreak of pimples is a nightmare that every teenager dreads. Yet, this is what inevitably happens. The more you stress the more pimples you get.
Is there a way to quickly and effectively get rid of acne? Let's take a look at some simple methods to tackle acne
1. Wash your face at least twice a day with warm water. Don't scrub too hard. Apply soap to your
face and gently go over the entire area to remove bacteria causing acne. These germs are responsible for the painful pustules on your face. So removing them helps reduce the outbreak on your face.
2. Don't touch your face or break the pustules. This causes the bacteria to spread out to other areas of the face and cause more pimples. If any pustule pops gently swab and remove the liquid with clean cotton. Wash your face without irritating the area.
3. Avoid make up as this blocks the pores. If you do wear make up then don't forget to wash-off all traces of it at night. Blocked pores worsen acne and prevent its cure.
4. Apply a benzoyl peroxide cream to your acne. There are several brands with this ingredient in it. It is an effective cure for pimples. Other type of formulations like soaps and lotions containing this ingredient are available too. Choose products that have less than 3 percent concentration of benzoyl peroxide.
5. Another effective solution for acne is salicylic acid. The ointment works by removing old skin and dissolving the dead layer on top exposing a fresh new layer of skin. When you start using this cream your skin might feel dry and flaky for a while. After some time you will notice that the pimples have vanished.
6. Another cure for acne that works at cellular level are known as Retinoids. They prevent the ducts from swelling up and retaining dirt and secretions which cause acne.
7. To dry out sweaty and oil apply face mask twice a week. You can try olive oil mixed with cucumber and oatmeal as an effective face mask. Egg whites are great for cleaning pores. Rinse out the face mask with warm water. Other readily available acne fighting home remedies include lavender, rosewood oil and sandalwood paste.
